My Guiding Principles of service

I believe true and correct principles should be the foundation of our beliefs and actions. There are 4 primary principles that will guide me as I sit on the City Commission of San Benito, Texas: Home Rule Municipality, Community Outreach and Education, Communication and Cooperation, and Government as a Service.

Home Rule Municipality

I will take action based on San Benito's status as a Home Rule Municipality. The City of San Benito has the autonomy to create laws and ordinances that will meet the needs of its people. The citizens have the right and responsibility to make decisions that will help develop San Benito into the city they want it to be.

Community Outreach and Education

I will support the citizens of San Benito through Community Outreach and Education. Making organizations, government services, and ordinances accessible will empower the people to make the best decisions possible for San Benito's growth and success.

Communication and Cooperation

I will encourage Communication and Cooperation from our citizens, officials, and organizations. We will not all agree on every issue, but every voice needs to be heard. I believe our officials have the responsibility to seek out and listen to the ideas and concerns of our people.

Government as Service

I will facilitate the utilization of Government as a Service. The citizens of San Benito are not meant to serve the government, officials, or administrators. Rather, the government is meant to serve the needs of the people.
